Sample Checklist for Basic Electrical Safety

Electrical safety is everybody’s concern. We should deal with it, Grandparents should deal with it, and even kids should be knowledgeable about it.  Anyone who knows how to plug an appliance, equipment or a machine to a wall socket/outlet must have, at least, a basic knowledge about electrical safety.

Before we proceed to the checklist, I just want to make a point at this moment. Being knowledgeable about electrical safety is not enough to be electrically safe. This is just a supplement. Supplement for what? For good quality electrical products!


Reliable Electrical Supplier


This is the first line of defense about electrical safety. Purchasing an electrical product, device or machine from a reliable supplier, like Panther Electrical in the Philippines, will definitely help you to be electrical safe. Remember that the accident starts from the device itself and not on the electricity supply. Also be reminded that a good quality electrical product passed a series of examinations, tests that made sure that the product will not cause any damage for any given circumstances and situations. With these you are safe.


Checklist


A good quality electrical product partnered with a good knowledge about safety will give you an A+! Yes, that’s true.  Imagine, you have quality devices and you practice safety. Men, you’re going to be awesome! So, let’s check out the checklist.

Inspect cord and plugs
Check extension cords and plugs on a regular basis, or for practicality, before using it. Please, do not use cords that are worn or damaged.

Eliminate Octopus connections
Do note plug several items into one outlet. Practice pulling the plug and not the cord.

Never use extension cords as permanent wiring
Keep in mind that you will only use extension cords to temporarily supply power to an area that does not have a power outlet. Also, keep them away from heat, water and oil. They can damage the insulation and can cause an electrical shock.


Remember


Always be reminded of these things. Precautions are better than anything. We don’t want to be in an accident so please be safe using electricity and other related devices and equipment. Buy quality products and practice safety.

My Bestfriend’s NMAT story
